Calling all Tree Designers!
What is a Tree Designer? The creative master behind a beautifully decorated tree. This may be one person or a whole team!
Who can design a tree? If you are interested, the answer is you! All it takes is a creative vision and the desire to make it happen. We will provide detailed guidelines and will be here to answer questions, brainstorm ideas, and support you in your endeavor.
How much will it cost? We will provide you with an unlit tree at no cost. There is an expense for a pre-lit tree. For the decorations, that’s up to you. Your expenses are tax deductible as allowed by law. If you’d like to be reimbursed, we do offer up to $200 for your expenses (see the designer guidelines for more information).
Where will I design my tree? At Designer Day! You will be invited to join us for a day filled with creative spirit. Bring your tree, decorations, bag of tricks, and lots of chocolate. Together (at a distance) with other Tree Designers, you will assemble your creation for display. We will serve snacks and meals, and offer some great door prizes.
I want to learn more! Where should I look? As we count down to the event, we will be posting details in every way possible. Learn more, follow along and engage with us via this page, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
A Note from Hiawatha Homes Foundation
The Festival of Trees, a 35 year tradition in our local community, will look a little different this year. After weeks of discussion and scenario planning, the decision has been made to move forward with an off-site/virtual event. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will not be held at the Mayo Civic Center in 2020, but rather disbursed throughout the community and presented online.
Our team is hard at work, and you must know – the energy and innovation is contagious! We will be sure to update this page as our planning unfolds. One thing is certain, we will uphold our tradition to kick off the holiday season with our community, and together we will raise funds in support of individuals with disabilities!
We are a community and we are in this together!
Please contact us with ideas, feedback, questions and suggestions. After all, this is your event!
